POETRY STARTERS WRITE-ABOUTS, 4-8
|
Write a haiku about an icicle. Your poem should express frustration. "Write a rhyming poem about a cloud. Your poem should express comfort." Here's a fun way to get students writing poetry. Students select a page from each of the three sections to create their own poetry writing starter. The first section describes a type of poem, the second names an object the poem will be about, and the third identifies the emotion the poem should express.
